The drawings in the Love Bravely series are a celebration of joy, an embrace of love, and a call to action. In this body of work, I push back against the concept of the blank white page, and I begin by painting my paper black - intentionally embracing black as my foundational ground. The hearts grow from the beautiful blackness of the paper, a tangle of lines and color. I believe in love as a powerful force of change. Through brave love, we can find joy in our current moment, we can find courage within ourselves and one another, and we can push forward towards a more just future.
